Il passaggio indifferente e quasi distratto dell’autonomia differenziata accelera una deriva già in atto da tempo per la disgregazione del Paese a poco più di 150 anni dalla sua nascita. Ma una disintegrazione del Paese, in linea con tensioni centrifughe esterne, andrebbe affrontata con realismo e visione per non distruggere l’unità politica e moltiplicare tensioni internazionali. I pericoli sono immensi e forse ingenuamente trascurati. Il rischio è di rivivere il dramma rivelato da Hannah Arendt con il nazismo. Tanti si fecero travolgere da quell’orrore non per disegno malvagio ma per quello che lei chiamò thoughtfulness, non essere stati giudiziosi, non avere pensato a pieno le cose, essere stati trascurati e distratti. Meloni, Salvini e tutti gli altri compagni di viaggio che oggi spingono sulla barca del regionalismo, forse non pensano di far saltare l’Italia. Ma altrettanto non pensano a fondo, non approfondiscono evidentemente le conseguenze delle loro azioni. Pensano forse che siano banali, ma banali forse non sono. D’altro canto viste le oggettive tendenze centrifughe del Paese, l’Italia può restare unita solo se trova un suo vero spazio geopolitico nuovo, con fantasia, saggezza, e sapienza. Essa potrebbe cominciare a tessere una tela che trasformi la penisola in un ponte politico inclusivo non solo di Asia, Africa e Europa, ma anche dell’America. Solo tenendo uniti tutti questi pezzi l’Italia trova il senso della sua unità. Non si può pensare di andare in Africa senza avere un accordo profondo con Paesi che sono alle spalle dell’Italia, come Francia e Germania. Un piano solitario italiano per l’Africa acuisce le tensioni con il resto dell’Europa e approfondisce le tensioni centrifughe italiane.
