Alessandro De Nicola received his law degree from the Catholic University of Milan and earned his LL.M and Ph.D degrees from the University of Cambridge. He is admitted to the Milan Bar and to the Roll of Certified Auditors. He teaches business law and corporate governance at Bocconi University in Milan and he is the managing partner of the Italian offices of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, an international law firm, and the leader of its European Corporate Group. He practices principally in the areas of M&A, corporate governance, antitrust and international transactions. He is a columnist for Il Sole 24 Ore, chairman of the Adam Smith Society and he has written several papers and books on corporate and antitrust law focusing on the comparative and economic analysis of the subjects treated.
