The Signature of All Things. E-book. Formato EPUB Jacob Boehme - E-Bookarama, 2025 -
If "The Signature of All Things" (Signatura Rerum) by the German mystic Jacob Boehme looks like a book you'd find in the library at a certain school of wizardry, you're not too far off. Boehme discourses at length here on one of the fundamental laws of Magic: the law of signatures, the concept that every object in the real world has some hidden meaning, and particularly how these signatures interact. At the core of Boehme's philosophy is a mystical Christianity. However, his beliefs were far from that of the Lutheran establishment, and he was persecuted his entire life. Boehme's view of a universe where a creative and destructive principle are in conflict was later repurposed by Hegel as the dialectic. Newton, Nietzsche, the Quaker George Fox, and even Phillip K. Dick have all been cited as being influenced by Boehme.Jacob Boehme was a German philosopher, Christian mystic, and Lutheran Protestant theologian. He was considered an original thinker by many of his contemporaries within the Lutheran tradition, and his first book, commonly known as "Aurora", caused a great scandal.Boehme had a profound influence on later philosophical movements such as German idealism and German Romanticism.(Source: sacred-texts.com & wikipedia.org)
The Confessions of Jacob Boehme. E-book. Formato EPUB Jacob Boehme - E-Bookarama, 2025 -
"The Confessions of Jacob Boehme" will serve as a gentle introduction to Boehme for curious readers. This work was not published as such by Boehme, but compiled by W. Scott Palmer in 1920 from an 18th century translation of his complete works.Jacob Boehme was a German Christian mystic, who, despite humble origins, wrote encyclopaedic works detailing a visionary universe, densely inhabited by spirits. Like many other mystics, Boehme saw dualities and trinities everywhere. He believed that there were three worlds: the world of Light, the world of Darkness, and the world of Fire. He believed that heaven and hell overlap spatially. The Devil is incapable of communicating with God, because (as we would say today) he in is a parallel universe!
Dialogues on the Supersensual Life. E-book. Formato EPUB Jacob Boehme - E-Bookarama, 2024 -
In "Dialogues on the Supersensual Life", Boehme explains the key ideas of his doctrine.Boehme thinks the Soul is a Being which has a will or desire, and is aided by a mirror of understanding or imagination. Will or Desire is of the very essence of the Soul, inseparable from its existence. He says: 'Where Desire is, there is also Essence or Being.' The Soul is subject to the diverse attractions of the Centre of Divine Life and Light, and of the Spirit of the World. Enlightened by its understanding it has the free power to turn its will towards, and unite itself to, this or that. Choice should be done well, thy choice is brief and yet endless.
