Edward Morgan, nato in Inghilterra nel 1964, ha iniziato ad arrampicare mentre frequentava la facoltà di Matematica presso l’Università di Nottingham, e ha continuato a farlo negli ultimi quarant’anni in giro per il mondo (nel 1990 ha raggiunto la quota di 7200 metri sull’Everest, prima di dover rinunciare per rischio valanghe). Da sempre incuriosito dalla storia dell’alpinismo, è rimasto folgorato da quella poco nota della parete sud del Lhotse, su cui ha compiuto ricerche per oltre dieci anni. Grazie a documenti, interviste ai protagonisti delle più importanti spedizioni e a varie ricognizioni personali (compresa la partecipazione come ospite a una spedizione coreana nel 2017) ha potuto scrivere Lhotse South Face. Marito e padre di cinque figli, vive in Svizzera.
