Dell’autore, Elliot ha pubblicato il romanzo Gli amici appassionati (2018). I tre scritti che compongono Per una enciclopedia mondiale furono pubblicati originariamente su riviste o pensati in occasione di conferenze, e poi confluirono nella raccolta World Brain (1938).
