Die Passion Christi repräsentiert für Gläubige wie Ungläubige auf unverfälschte und verbindliche Art die radikale Lehre einer sich täglich verwirklichenden, gemeinsamen und universellen Liebe. Der Lebensweg des Einzelnen ist mitunter qualvoll und lässt die Notwendigkeit aufscheinen, sich dieser leidenschaftlichen Liebe erneut zu vergewissern, die vor allem jene verspüren, die sich sonst nicht von liebevollen, sondern von hasserfüllten, nicht heilbringende, sondern verurteilenden Blicken gemustert fühlen. Luigi Testa spricht aus dieser Perspektive. Er stellt sich der Passion Christi, tritt aus der anonymen Beobachtung hervor, legt stereotype Andachtsformeln ab und gibt zu bedenken, was es bedeutet, in unserer Zeit homosexuell zu sein. „Die vielen Male, die mir irgendjemand sagte, dass es auf diese Art nicht gut ist, dass Du mich so nicht liebst, Du mich so nicht willst, (…) jedes einzige dieser Male wurde Dein Tod am Kreuz geschmäht“
