Un viaje en el que vale la pena acompañarlo.Paco Jiménez Martínez nace en 1949 en Peal de Becerro, Jaén, Andalucía. En 1954, con su familia emigra a su pueblo de adopción, Sant Just Desvern, Cataluña. Es licenciado y doctor en Pedagogía y licenciado en Psicología por la Univ. de Barcelona. En la década de los 70 trabaja como profesor de educación especial en la escuela primaria. Entre 1979 y 1991 es profesor en la Univ. Autónoma de Barcelona y entre 1992 y 2016, de la Univ. de Girona. Focaliza su labor docente en la educación en la diversidad. Se especializa en psicopedagogía. Realiza investigaciones sobre educación aplicada al espectro autista y la esquizofrenia. Colabora en diversas publicaciones sobre la educación inclusiva de niños y adultos. Entre 1999 y 2003 dirige la revista estatal Educación Especial, Ed. Aljibe. En 2016, antes de jubilarse como catedrático de la Univ. de Girona, promueve la creación de la Cátedra Autisme UdG, con del Ayuntamiento de Castell-Platja d’Aro, la asociación Viu Autisme y el Rotary Club y el apoyo de prestigiosas entidades. En 2019 se publica su obra bilingüe catalán–castellano, El meu germà a les alforges/Mi hermano en las alforjas, una historia de doble recorrido: por un lado la excursión de Girona a Peal de Becerro en bicicleta, por otro, la evocación de la historia del hermano esquizofrénico para analizar el origen de su problemática y reflexionar acerca de las enfermedades psiquiátricas y su tratamiento.

The love for animals is a deep, natural bond, free from all the prejudices and conditionings of the love between human beings.
