Wizard. E-book. Formato Mobipocket Larry Harris   -  Jovian Press, 2017  -

Although the Masquerade itself, as a necessary protection against non-telepaths, was not fully formulated until the late years of the Seventeenth Century, groups of telepaths-in-hiding existed long before that date. Whether such groups were the results of natural mutations, or whether they came into being due to some other cause, has not yet been fully determined, but that a group did exist in the district of Offenburg, in what is now Prussia, we are quite sure. The activities of the group appear to have begun, approximately, in the year 1594, but it was not until eleven years after that date that they achieved a signal triumph, the first and perhaps the last of its kind until the dissolution of the Masquerade in 2103. —Excerpt from "A Short History of the Masquerade," by A. Milge, Crystal 704-54-368, Produced 2440.

Wizard . E-book. Formato Mobipocket Larry Harris   -  Ozymandias Press, 2016  -

In the year 1605, amidst the dense forests of Offenburg in Prussia, a clandestine group of telepaths lives in secrecy, their existence concealed from the non-telepathic world. These individuals, products of natural mutations or perhaps other unknown causes, have formed a hidden society to protect themselves from persecution.     Jonas, a member of this covert group, thrives on the thrill of danger and the challenges it brings. His latest mission leads him to the town of Speyer, where the Holy Inquisition's presence looms large, and the risk of exposure is ever-present. As Jonas navigates this perilous environment, he must use his wits and telepathic abilities to survive and protect his fellow telepaths from the relentless scrutiny of the Inquisition.     Wizard is a gripping tale of adventure, suspense, and the resilience of those who dare to defy societal norms in pursuit of freedom. Larry M. Harris masterfully weaves a narrative that explores the complexities of human nature, the fear of the unknown, and the lengths to which individuals will go to safeguard their secrets. This story delves into the historical context of the early 17th century, shedding light on the challenges faced by those with extraordinary abilities in a world that demands conformity.     Originally published in 1960, Wizard continues to captivate readers with its timeless themes and compelling storytelling. This edition offers a fresh opportunity to experience Harris's thought-provoking work, inviting readers to ponder the delicate balance between individuality and societal expectations.
