Affektivität, Suggestibilität, Paranoia (1906) prepara il campo al capolavoro di Eugen Bleuler: Dementia praecox o il gruppo delle schizofrenie, che uscirà cinque anni dopo. In che senso lo prepara? Nel senso che, sulla scia di Kraepelin, sgombra il terreno dall’equivoco di confondere la demenza della schizofrenia paranoide con la comune e “quasi normale” affezione paranoica. A che scopo? Presentare la specificità della psicosi intellettuale per eccellenza: la paranoia, intesa come patologia del sapere. In cosa, si chiede Bleuler, il delirio paranoico differisce dai nostri “normali” deliri quotidiani, individuali e collettivi: le fedi religiose, che producono guerre di religione, le ideologie politiche, che producono sanguinose rivoluzioni, le superstizioni magiche, che muovono miliardi nei più disparati movimenti (omeopatia, scientology, fitness…)? In nulla, semplicemente nel grado di certezza. L’idea delirante, persecutoria o megalomane che sia, indotta per suggestione affettiva individuale o collettiva, è paranoica per la forma, non per il contenuto; è paranoica perché è un’idea tanto certa quanto è incorreggibile. Non proviene dalla realtà empirica; forse è innata, nel senso dell’idealismo classico, e perciò nessuna realtà empirica potrà mai modificarla. La paranoia ignora il dubbio cartesiano. Bleuler tace sull’insorgere e stabilirsi della sua incorreggibilità. Tocca a noi, allora, riprendere e portare avanti il discorso sulla “psicosi intellettuale” per antonomasia, cercando di capire il mistero di come il paranoico riesca là dove l’idealista fallisce: pensare il falso con certezza.In occasione della pubblicazione cartacea, questa seconda edizione digitale è stata interamente rivista e arricchita di un Indice analitico dotato di collegamenti ipertestuali.

If they start to shake hands: at any point the action may not only stop but the hand, as the result of a contrary impulse, may be placed behind the back.
