Attorno a loro, una girandola di personaggi altrettanto indimenticabili: il cappellano dalla bevuta facile, il cavadenti pokerista, la capoinfermiera procace e inflessibile, il telegrafista le cui orecchie a sventola funzionano meglio dei radar. Politicamente scorretto, esilarante e surreale (benché basato su vicende realmente accadute), M*A*S*H è un libro di culto: accolto da uno strepitoso successo commerciale, ha ispirato l’omonimo film di Robert Altman (Palma d’Oro a Cannes nel 1970) e uno dei telefilm di maggior successo nella storia della televisione americana.

Hooker projected eight books for the great work. The first four books of Ecclesiastical Polity appeared in I 593, Book V in 1 597. Hooker died in 1600 at the age of forty-six; the remaining three books were completed, though not revised, before his death. The manuscripts fell into careless or unscrupulous hands and were not published until long afterwards (1648 to and then only In mutilated form.
