Il testo affronta il tema del recupero dell’edilizia scolastica per l’educazione primaria attraverso l’introduzione del fattore umano fra le variabili da considerare e controllare nel progetto di recupero edilizio. A partire dal riferimento ai principi dell’usabilità, vengono analizzate le componenti dell’ambiente scolastico che incidono sulla sua adeguatezza ai compiti e alle aspettative degli utenti; viene quindi proposto un metodo operativo per valutare l’usabilità delle scuole e assicurare esiti del progetto di recupero che migliorino le condizioni ergonomiche delle scuole tutelando, al tempo stesso, i caratteri e i valori del costruito. Il volume include una check-list per la verifica delle prescrizioni di legge nelle scuole e le schede operative che esemplificano l’applicazione del metodo di valutazione dell’usabilità secondo un approccio tecnologico, basato sulla definizione di requisiti tecnici e specifiche di prestazione per l’intorno urbano, l’edificio e le singole unità ambientali della scuola.

The Sustainable Development is based on the regeneration, the enhancement and management of natural and built resources, improving performances in the respect of their identity. Nowadays, the issues related to the urban and environmental recovery have to deal with a new scientific approach to mitigate the vulnerability of the cities, using conservation and transformation actions compatible with the heritage to be recovered. The Ph.D. training in Building and Environmental Recovery, Maintenance and Management responds to the demand for researchers and professionals able to plan the recovery and maintenance design. The text contains the teaching disciplinary approaches and illustrates the doctoral thesis carried out in recent years and together with the post-graduate researches. The illustrated researches highlight the shift from a culture oriented towards the recovery design to the pre-figuration of integrated management for the life cycle of the built environment.
