With Memories the authors want to reinsert the story of Chinese migrants in Italy within the great flow to Europe occurred in the second half of the Twenties, showing how many of them had already been together in Japan, and how they left only following the violence spread out in the country after the Kanto’s earthquake, in 1923.This work was born from a mixed, artistic and academic, commission focused on GeoHumanities promoted by the University of Padua and the Hollow University of London in 2019.Where it was impossible to recover direct evidences, we came up with a possible reconstruction based on the individual characteristics of a few protagonists of this migration, people we know well because of their subsequent European exploits and various traces left behind.

In the variegated cultural panorama of the early modern age, a fascinating alternative to the transmission of knowledge to posterity by a single author became increasingly popular. This was a form of layered wisdom, generated by the combined and stratified contributions of different authors, publishers, editors and translators. This book focuses on one of the most representative expressions of this phenomenon: the 16th-century collections of political maxims. Working at different times and in different places, the exponents of this little-known chapter of intellectual history came together in the attempt to define the rules of statecraft. This research traces their experimentation, illustrating how it helped pave the way for the evolution of modern political science.

C’è posto per i giovani nel cuore e nella testa della Chiesa? E c’è posto per la Chiesa nel cuore e nella testa dei giovani? La pastorale giovanile della Chiesa Cattolica italiana vive spesso nel rimpianto del passato, quando i seminari e i patronati erano pieni e i giovani italiani erano il doppio rispetto a oggi. I giovani vanno conosciuti, accettati e ascoltati per quel che sono. Vanno anche considerate, comprese e valorizzate le realtà di Chiesa che ancora oggi riescono a rinnovarsi e ad attrarre le nuove generazioni. Vanno invece abbandonati senza rimpianto modelli pastorali oggi insostenibili, o che hanno fatto il loro tempo. Questa “visita guidata” nella pastorale giovanile della diocesi di Padova – con qualche puntata sul resto del Veneto e dell’Italia – può essere d’aiuto per le difficili scelte dei Sinodi della Chiesa di Padova, d’Italia e universale. Perché la comunità ecclesiale e ogni singolo cristiano debbono rinnovare ogni giorno la risposta alla domanda di Isaia 6, 8: Chi manderò e chi andrà per noi? Confidando nel Signore, che non ci lascerà mai soli.
