Nei 3 Capricci Urbani del compositore Marcus Siqueira lo spazio immaginifico della metropoli si rivela attraverso il violino, strumento foriero di una voce storicamente forte e multipla, anello di congiunzione tra un passato illuminato da uno sfarzoso virtuosismo (oltre che da una vigorosa cantabilità) ed un presente dipinto metaforicamente dalla mostruosità sonora della metropoli. I 3 Capricci Urbani si snodano, quindi, fra questi due poli: da una parte una sonorità strumentale più riconducibile agli stilemi violinistici (dal XVII al XIX secolo), dall’altra suoni, tessiture e articolazioni che derivano proprio dall’esplorazione dei limiti strutturali e fisici dello strumento.In the 3 Capricci Urbani of the composer Marcus Siqueira, the imaginative space of the metropolis is revealed precisely through the violin, instrument historically full of a strong and multiple voice, a link between a past illuminated by a magnificent virtuosity (as well as by a vigorous cantabile) and a present painted metaphorically by the sonorous monstrosity of the metropolis; the violin here is a transformational instrument. The 3 Capricci Urbani meander, therefore, between these two poles: on the one hand an instrumental sonority more attributable to violinist styles (from the 17th to the 19th Century), on the other, sounds, textures and articulations that derive precisely from the exploration of the structural limits and physicists of the instrument.

Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762), come ogni altro violinista della sua generazione, risente particolarmente dell’influsso diretto di Arcangelo Corelli, pur mostrando una maggiore libertà nell’elaborazione ritmica e tematica, un virtuosismo strumentale eccezionalmente ardito e fantasioso, una fantasia armonica e strumentale che ebbe ben pochi rivali in tutto il primo Settecento. Il manoscritto del Solo in Do Maggiore [Ms. 2201-P-1] è conservato presso la SLUB – Biblioteca Universitaria del Land di Sassonia (Dresda). Sharon Tomaselli, violinista, ha al suo attivo numerosi concerti, in formazioni cameristiche e orchestrali, per importanti enti musicali italiani. Per l’etichetta “Tactus” ha registrato i Duetti di Felice Giardini in prima mondiale. Si dedica con passione anche all’attività didattica.Like as every other violinist of his generation, Francesco Geminiani (1687-1762) was particularly affected by the direct influence of Arcangelo Corelli, showing freedom in rhythmic and thematic embellishment, a remarkably brave and imaginative instrumental virtuosity, a harmonic and instrumental fullness that had very few equals throughout the early eighteenth century. The manuscript of Solo in C Major [from Ms. 2201-P-1] is preserved at SLUB – University Library of the Land of Saxony in Dresden. Sharon Tomaselli, violinst, has to her credit numerous concerts, in Chamber Ensembles and Orchestras, for important cultural and musical institutions. For Tactus Label, she recorded Felice Giardini’s Duets in World premiere. She is passionately dedicated also to teaching.
