LUCE è una composizione per due percussionisti, commissionata nel 2007 da Peter Cottino, sovrintendente della Fondazione Axel Munthe-Villa San Michele, e dai percussionisti Mika Takehara e Ludvig Nilsson. E' ispirata alla straordinaria figura di medico e letterato svedese Axel Munthe, autore del celebre romanzo La storia di San Michele e artefice dell'omonima Villa ad Anacapri, considerata tra i luoghi più belli al mondo. La scelta dell'organico, che include strumenti costruiti appositamente utilizzando materiali poveri, l'ispirazione evocativa, l'idea e la struttura sono i caratteri distintivi del lavoro.
