Kraftwerk.
When Kraftwerk emerged as mainstream pop group in 1975, their originality was out of the question. At the beginning not everyone understood their celebration of a postwar German culture founded on industry, or their vision of a future that seemed to show a science fiction that was turning into science and reality. Kraftwerk were not undocumented heralds a new world's sense of humor and not too palatable. With their songs in German about the pleasures of Autobahn, were very distant from the Californian rock, but also showed wit and elegance ... and maybe were exploring the future of popular music from a central European perspective. In four albums expressed-with humor and innocence ??? many of the occupations and emerging concerns in postwar German society. Among the themes explored by Kraftwerk appear the trip (Trans-Europe Express, Space-Lab) technology and communications (Computer World, Pocket Calculator), Europe (Europe Endless) and environment (Radio-Activity). The group claimed its place in modern music, first in Britain, then in the United States, where their music became extremely popular in clubs and influenced the birth of hip hop and techno in the 1980s.
