Marcus Whitman: Pathfinder and Patriot. E-book. Formato PDF. In 1883, the author published a pamphlet of thirty-four oc tavo pages, entitled Marcus Whitman, M. D. Proofs of his work in Saving Oregon to the United States and in promoting the immigration of 1843. In it are a large number of letters, most of which were written to the author on these subjects. This in some of the chapters will be referred to as Eells' Whit man Pamphlet. The books, pamphlets and newspapers to which the writer is indebted for aid in preparing the following pages are very many, and are generally mentioned in the foot notes. The writer also here wishes to thank the many persons who have in answer to his inquiries written him in regard to various subjects herein treated. Their names are generally mentioned in their proper places.
