Leggere il territorio. Riflessioni di un geografo: «La lettura geografica che noi proponiamo osserva il mondo con l'occhio delle società umane e dei suoi individui. Se la Terra è un essere vivente anche il territorio è un essere vivente. Non solo perché è sempre parte della Terra, ma soprattutto perché è il risultato della trasformazione di uno spazio attraverso il lavoro umano: è con questo che esso incorpora valore antropologico. Attraverso la sua materialità, un territorio rivela le aspettative di chi lo abita, ma è anche impregnato di immaterialità: gli affetti (amore o odio che siano) si ancorano nel quadro costruito della (e dalla) vita quotidiana dando cosìforma a una propria identità. La lettura che propone questa pubblicazione si appoggia principalmente su esempi tratti dalla realtà elvetica allo scopo di mostrare che dietro ai concetti, ai quali la Geografia può riferirsi nelle sue letture territoriali, vi sono realtà concrete: lasciamo a ogni lettore il compito di leggere quelle del proprio territorio. The geographic reading that we propose observes the world with the eye of human societies and its individuals. If The Earth is a living being, the territory is also a living being. Not only because it is always part of the Earth, but mainly because it is the result of the transformation of a space through human work: it is with this that it incorporates anthropological value. Through its materiality, a territory reveals the expectations of those who inhabit it, but it is also imbued with immateriality: the affections (love or hatred that are) are anchored in the built framework of the (and from) daily life giving so form to its own identity. The reading that proposes this publication rests mainly on examples taken from the Swiss reality in order to show that behind the concepts, to which Geography can refer in its territorial readings, there are concrete realities: we leave every Reader the task of reading those of his own territory. Mankind has never detached itself from nature, because it is an integral part of it and forgetting it means running the risk of extinction: and in this case the responsibility will be ours alone!
